Wool Sales Catalogue 23/2025

The 23rd sale of the 2025/26 wool season took place this week, with a larger offering of 10 918 bales.

The majority of the offering consisted of good quality, fine micron & long length wool, with 61% of the merino offering being sustainably certified.

The SA Rand traded variably, but at weaker levels against the US$ throughout the sale.

The market continued to deliver strong results this week, with an excellent overall sales clearance of 99,3%.

The all-merino indicator increased by 5,3% to close on R251,06 p/kg, whilst the certified indicator gained 3,8% to close on R256,60 p/kg.

A highest price of R326,85 p/kg (clean)(R217,00 p/kg greasy) was paid for a 2-bale lot of 15,8 micron merino wool.

The Australian market continued to strengthen this week and increased by 2,9% (AU$) from the previous sale held on Thursday, 26 February.

The major buyers on this week's sale were Tianyu SA (2 404), BKB Pinnacle Fibres (2 398), G Modiano SA (1 774) and Stucken & Co (1 472).

The next sale will be held on 11 March 2026, when approximately 8 392 bales will be on offer.
