Wool Sales Catalogue 26
published 03 Apr 2025

The 26th sale of the 2024/25 wool selling season took place today, with an offering of 7 689 bales.

The majority of the offering once again consisted of fine micron longer length wools, with 54,9% of the merino wools on offer being certified as sustainable.

The market edged up slightly today, supported by the weaker ZAR against the US$.

The good competition for the finer micron, good yielding wools, resulted in an overall sales clearance of 98,1%.

The all-merino indicator increased by 0,3% to close on R184,80 p/kg, whilst the certified indicator rose by 0,6% to close on R189,31 p/kg.

A highest price of R281,06 p/kg (clean) was paid for a single bale lot of 15,7 micron merino wool.

The Australian market managed to close up by 0,32% (AU$) this week, compared to their previous sale held on Wednesday, 26 March.

The major buyers on today’s sale were BKB Pinnacle Fibres (1 791), G Modiano SA (1 705), Standard Wool SA (1 203) and Stucken & Co (834).

The next sale will take place on 16 April 2025 where approximately 7 252 bales will be on offer.
