Wool Sales Catalogue 25

The 25th sale of the 2024/25 wool season took place today, with a smaller offering of 5 910 bales, after 1 099 bales were withdrawn prior to the sale.

Fine micron wools comprised 75% of the offering, whilst sustainably certified wools made up 54,6% of the merino wools on offer.

The market delivered steady results today, despite the downward trend in the Australian market this week. Although there were mixed results achieved across the various micron categories, sustainably certified wools attracted strong competition, with the market achieving a very good overall sales clearance of 97,3%.

The all-merino indicator edged up slightly by 0,1% to close on R184,17 p/kg, with the certified indicator gaining 0,7% to close on R188,25 p/kg.

A highest price of R281,86 p/kg (clean) was paid for a 2-bale lot of 15,6 micron merino wool.

The Australian market closed down 0,4% (AU$) this week, compared to the previous sale held on Wednesday, 19 March.

The major buyers on today’s sale were: G Modiano SA (1 439), BKB Pinnacle Fibres (1 355), Standard Wool SA (932) and Stucken & Co (694).

The next sale will take place on 2 April 2025 where approximately 7 887 bales will be on offer.
