The 3rd sale of the 2026/27 wool selling season took place today, with an offering of 5 601 bales.

Approximately 62% of the offering consisted of long length, fine micron wools. Sustainably certified wool comprised a large percentage of 76,7% of the merino wools on offer.

The market delivered steady results today and also achieved an excellent overall sales clearance of 99,3%.

The all-merino indicator closed unchanged on R266,20 p/kg, with the certified indicator edging up by 0,2% to close on R272,81 p/kg.

A highest price of R383,70 p/kg (clean) ( R290.00 p/kg greasy), was paid for a single bale lot of 15,8-micron merino wool.

The Australian market increased by 0,6% (AU$) today, compared to their previous sale held on Tuesday, 1 September.

The major buyers on today’s sale were G Modiano SA (1 179), Stucken & Co (989), Fibre Flow (818) and Standard Wool SA (802).

The next sale will take place on 9 September 2026, where approximately 4 908 bales will be on offer.
