Wool Sales Catalogue 20/2025

The 20th sale of the 2025/26 wool selling season was held today, with an offering of 7 957 bales.

Sustainably certified wools comprised 54,6% of the merino wools on offer, with around 60 % of the offering consisting of fine micron, long length wools.

The market delivered good results today, following the positive trend in the Australian market this week, supported by the weaker SA Rand against the US$. An excellent sales clearance of 96,4% was achieved.

The all-merino indicator gained 2,4% to close on R233,70 p/kg, whilst the certified indicator increased by 2,7% to close on R238,01 p/kg.

A highest price of R291,74 p/kg (clean) (R191,00 p/kg greasy) was paid for a 7-bale lot of 18,2 micron merino wool.

The Australian market had another steady performance this week and increased by 0,7% (AU$) from their previous sale held on Thursday, 29 January.

The major buyers on this week's sale were BKB Pinnacle Fibres (2 082), Tianyu SA (1 297), G Modiano SA (1 042) and Standard Wool SA (1 040).

The next sale will be held on 11 February 2026 when approximately 12 425 bales will be on offer.
