The offering of 7 363 bales mainly consisted of long length, fine micron wools and sustainably certified wools comprised 56,7% of the merino wools offered.

The all-merino indicator eased slightly by 0,3% to close on R228,18 p/kg, with the certified indicator closing down by 0,9% to close on R231,83 p/kg.

A highest price of R310,49 p/kg (clean)(R232,00 p/kg greasy) was paid for a 2-bale lot of 16,1 micron merino wool.

The Australian market shed 1,6% (AU$) this week, but still managed positive returns in US$ from their previous auction held on Wednesday, 21 January.

The major buyers on today’s sale were BKB Pinnacle Fibres (2 146), Tianyu SA (1 159), Standard Wool SA (1 099) and Stucken & Co (1 073).
