Wool Sales Catalogue 18/2025

The 18th sale of the 2025/26 wool season took place this week, with a total of 8 138 bales on offer.

The offering consisted of some good quality, fine micron wools, with 44,4% of the merino wools on offer being sustainably certified.

The market continued to deliver positive results this week, achieving a very good overall sales clearance of 96,7%.

The all-merino indicator increased by 2,1% to close on R228,98 p/kg, with the certified indicator closing 1,7% up on R233,99 p/kg.

A highest price of R308,77 p/kg (clean)(R230,00 p/kg greasy) was paid for a 2-bale lot of 16,3-micron merino fleece wool.

The Australian market experienced another good week, with the Australian market indicator gaining 2,5% (AU$) from their previous sale held on Wednesday,14 January. 

The major buyers on this week's sale were BKB Pinnacle Fibres (2 348), Standard Wool SA (1 461), Tianyu SA (1 236) and Stucken & Co (1 019).

The next sale will be held on 28 January 2026 when approximately 7 355 bales will be on offer.
