Wool sales catalogue 14/25

The 14th sale of the 2025/26 wool selling season took place this week, with a large offering of 13 754 bales, after 527 bales were withdrawn prior to the sale.

The bulk of the offering consisted of fine micron, long length wools, with only 42% of the merino wools on offer being sustainably certified.

The market had a steady performance this week and closed largely unchanged from the previous week, with a good overall sales clearance of 93,8%.

The all-merino indicator eased slightly by 0,5% to close on R205,35 p/kg, whilst the certified indicator edged slightly up by 0,2% to close on R211,44 p/kg.

A highest price of R332,64 p/kg (clean) was paid for a single bale lot of 16-micron merino fleece wool, which was also the highest price achieved thus far this season.

The Australian market eased slightly this week by 0,6% (AU$), compared to the last sale held on Wednesday, 19 November.

The major buyers on this week's sale were BKB Pinnacle Fibres (3 431), G Modiano SA (2 706), Tianyu SA (2 334) and Standard Wool SA (2 057).

The next sale will be held on 3 December 2025 when approximately 10 200 bales will be on offer.
