he 12th sale of the 2025/26 wool selling season took place this week, with 9 617 bales on offer.

The offering consisted of good quality wools, but less than half of the merino wools on offer was certified as sustainable,.

The market had a very good performance this week, despite the ZAR trading 2% stronger against the US$, with the good competition across the complete offering resulting in a better outcome for the all-merino market indicator. An overall sales clearance of 94,2% was achieved.

The all-merino indicator increased by 3,7% to close on R203,40 p/kg and the certified indicator rose by 2,4% to close on R208,94 p/kg.

A highest price of R298,12 p/kg(clean) was paid for a single bale lot of 15,4-micron merino fleece wool.

The Australian market also had a very good performance this week and increased by 2,7% (AU$) from their previous sale held on Thursday, 6 November.

The major buyers on this week's sale were BKB Pinnacle Fibres (2 195), Tianyu SA (1 773), G Modiano SA (1 740) and Standard Wool SA (1 460).

The next sale will be held on 19 November 2025 when approximately 12 642 bales will be on offer.
