Wool Sales Catalogue 22

The 22nd sale of the 2024/25 wool season took place this week, with a larger offering of 10 675 bales.
 
Long length, fine micron wools comprised more than 60% of the offering, with 60,8% of the merino wools on offer being certified as sustainable.

The ZAR started off much weaker against the US$ than the previous week, but consistently strengthened during the two-day auction.

The market once again delivered strong results, following the good performance in the Australian market this week. A very good overall sales clearance of 96% was achieved.

The all-indicator gained 1,9% to close on R176,59 p/kg, with the certified indicator increasing by 1% to close on R179,82 p/kg.

A highest price of R299,46 p/kg (clean) was paid for a single bale lot of 15-micron merino wool.
 
The Australian market also continued its upward trend and jumped 2,5% (AU$) from their previous sale held on Wednesday, 26 February.
 
The major buyers on this week''s sale were BKB Pinnacle Fibres (1 992), G Modiano SA (1 830), Standard Wool SA (1 734) and Stucken & Co (1 556).

The next sale will take place on 12 March 2025 where approximately 7 216 bales will be on offer.
